Not just Email SMS Spam Complain now Cell-phone users to file class action against providers !!

Representatives of telecommunications consumers say that a class action against telecommunication operators and content providers could be launched after a meeting to seek a solution to unauthorized transactions ended with nothing concrete.

The telecommunications regulator says complaints about spam advertising email have risen following its increased focus on consumer issues.

ACMA deputy chair Richard Bean said his organisation had recorded its highest number of complaints about spam since the Spam Act began in 2003.

Complaints about email and SMS messages surged to 30,728 in total during 2010/11, up from 5929 in the previous year, ACMA said.

Email complaints in 2010/11 rose by 418 per cent on the year before, while SMS/MMS messages rose by 377 per cent.
